DICC’s obituaries
Indrani Ariyaratne, Sri Lanka Cricket: -
“We do really appreciate the service done by Mr. Jayalath Aponsu to develop the deaf cricket in Sri Lanka. For 25 years from 1995 to date, you have been helping us without expecting any profit from the organization as the head coach, guiding and advising all cricket players in the association. As a result, our team won the 2018 T20 Deaf cricket World Cup. Your loss is a great loss to our association, but your service will last forever. We wish you immortal Nirvana on behalf of all the members of our association.
ජයලත් අපොන්සු සර් ශ්රවණාබාධිත ක්රිකට්ක්රීඩාව නගා සිටුවීම සදහා දැරූ අපමණ සේවාව අගය කරන්නෙමු.1995 සිට මේ දක්වා වසර 25 ක කාලයක් ඔබතුමා කිසිම ලාභ ප්රයෝජනයක් නොලබා අප ආයතනය සමග අත්වැල් බැදගනිමින් සන්ගමයේ සියලුම ක්රිකට් ට්ක්රීඩකයින්හට මග පෙන්වමින් උපදෙස් ලබා දෙමින් ප්රධාන පුහුණුකරු ලෙස ඉමහත් කර්යභාර්යයක් ඉටු කලේය.එහි ප්රතිඵලයක් ලෙස අප කන්ඩායමට 2018 වසරේ ලෝක කුසලානය මෙරටට ගෙනඒමේ භාග්ය උදාවිය.ඔබ අහිමිවීම අප සන්ගමයට විශාල ලෙස දරාගත නොහැකි පාඩුවකි.එහෙත් ඔබ කල සේවය සදාමතකයෙහි රදෙනු ඇත.අප සන්ගමයේ සියලුම සමජිකයින් වෙනුවෙන් ඔබට අජරාමර නිවන් සුව පතන්නෙමු. “

“It is always painful to lost a beautiful person. Ahmed Hassan Wasan, Ex. Vice President of Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association left this world due to COVID-19.
We convey our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and community.

Qatar’s affiliation to DICC
DICC are pleased to announce the latest member to join the DICC family, Deaf Cricket Sports Centre (Qatar) led by President, Mr. Christopher Raja. DICC are looking forward to a business and social partnership to develop & promote Deaf Cricket on both a local and global platform with Qatar as this is a statement of intent for all parties affiliated.
DICC public tender for DICC Cricket ODI World Cup (2020)
With the DICC Cricket ODI World Cup postponed to February / March 2022 due to the pandemic, a public tender will be released shortly to invite bidding applications for hosting, broadcasting and marketing rights and DICC will seek to encourage all DICC members & partners to assist with their own acquaintances in business partners to engage with DICC.
Mr Manpreet Singh – new DICC Ambassador
Lastly but not least, DICC are delighted to appoint; Mr. Manpreet Singh as our new DICC Ambassador, who has a impeccable track record whose colleagues include Indian legendary cricketers to name a few such as Mr Mohammed Azharuddin, Mr Bisdan Bedi, Mr Kapil Dev, Mr Harbhajan Singh and the all-time great icon in Mr Sachin Tendulkar. Mr Michael Clarke, Mr Chris Gayle, Sir Clive Lloyd, Mr Monty Panesar and Mr Simon Taufel are also amongst other famous cricketers who have worked with Mr Manpreet Singh to champion worthy causes.
Close to Mr Manpreet Singh’s heart and passion include the recognition of Indians at Gallipoli that saw Blacktown RSL put up photograph of Indian Army at War Memorial, working with New South Wales Police, Brand Ambassador of India-Australia Cricket relations, working closely with former Australian Prime Ministers; Tony Abbot and John Howard, Ambassador for better relations between India and Pakistan and is a regular guest on television shows in India.
DICC are honoured and thankful for Mr Manpreet Singh offering his services to help promote Deaf Cricket.
Before I send my best wishes to everyone and to keep safe, following the sad news of losses we've received, I'd like to thank the Executive Committee and Members for their continuous work for DICC. In particular, the Executive Committee are in communication daily via virtual calls and messages. DICC Members have a lot of gratitude to the DICC Executive Committee and the above bereaved champions of deaf cricket. 🏏🙏
